Refund policy

At La Caviare, we take exceptional care in sourcing, preparing, and delivering our products. Due to their highly perishable nature, specific conditions apply to cancellations, returns, and refunds, as outlined below.


Right of Withdrawal

Under applicable European Union consumer protection law, customers generally have the right to withdraw from distance contracts within 14 days.

However, pursuant to Article 16(d) of Directive 2011/83/EU, this right does not apply to goods that are liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly, including perishable food products.

Accordingly, orders for perishable goods cannot be cancelled, returned, or refunded once they have been dispatched or delivered, except in cases where the goods do not conform to the contract.


Returns and Exchanges

In light of the perishable nature of our products, we do not accept returns or exchanges once an order has been shipped.


Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Orders

If your order arrives damaged, spoiled, defective, or incorrect, you must notify us within 24 hours of delivery by contacting us at:

To allow us to assess the issue, we may request:

  • Your order number

  • A clear description of the issue

  • Photographic evidence of the product and original packaging

Failure to report an issue within this timeframe may limit our ability to offer a resolution.


Remedies

Where a lack of conformity is established in accordance with Directive (EU) 2019/771, you are entitled to an appropriate remedy.

Depending on the circumstances, this may include:

  • Replacement of the affected product, or
  • Refund of the corresponding amount

Any refund will be issued using the original method of payment within a reasonable timeframe.


Responsibility Upon Delivery

We recommend that all orders be inspected immediately upon receipt.

From the time of delivery, responsibility for the proper storage and handling of perishable goods rests with the customer. We cannot accept liability for deterioration resulting from improper storage or handling after delivery.
